The Double Handed Team consists of sailors between 10 and 18 years of age. The Double Handed Team will train twice a week to get and cover the fundamentals of sailing. The program will teach topics found in BC Sailings Learn to Race curriculum and Silver curriculum
Sailors will also have the option of participating in local regattas to test their skills against sailors from across the province.

How much does the program cost?
The Fall Season (September - November) will cost $250 coaching fees.
What type of boat will they sail?
Participants for 2010 will sail in a 420 dinghy with one other sailor.
What if we do not own a boat?
Boats may be chartered (rental) from WVYC for each season. For a charter form "Click Here". The cost of chartering a 420 is $100 per sailor a season.
Do we need to be a member of WVYC to participate in this program?
No! The North Shore Sailing Team is open to all sailors from any of the yacht clubs across the north shore. If you wish to store your own optimist at WVYC you will have to become a Junior Member. If you wish to become a Junior Member please "Click Here".
What days do they train? How do I check if practice is on?
The Double Handed Team trains from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Thursdays and noon - 4pm on Saturdays. You can check current schedules by clicking on schedules.
What does the Coaching Fee cover?
The coaching fee covers 21 practices or 72 hours of coaching. The coaching fee however does NOT cover regatta coaching as those are treated seperately due to participation.
